Breadner Elementary Hard at it!

Breadner Elementary School made good use of the funding provided for them through the Toyota Evergreen Learning Grounds Grant. They were awarded $2,000, which they used to enhance their 'green' park with native plant species. The staff and students diligently planned, developed and brought their gardens to life. According to Kathleen Sutherland, a teacher at the school, one of the goals of the project was to create a place for students to study and meet with their friends. This goal certainly was met. Way to go, Breadner!

Also, this elementary school has linked their Character Education programme to environmental awareness. A bulletin board, "Sowing the Seeds of Responsibility" sends a strong message for both Respect and Responsibility towards self and our environment.
