CML Snider School Providing Information re: Litterless Lunches!
November 26, 2007
The staff and students are very focused on recycling and reusing this school
year. Providing much needed information re Litterless Lunches and encouraging
students and parents to consider providing them several times each week are
priorities this year.
Student lunches are checked two to three times a week and an award system has
been implemented whereby if the lunch containers are reusable the students
receive coupons. If the lunch is packed with containers that are totally reusable,
the student receives two coupons. If the containers in the lunch are 'almost
there' in terms of the reusable factor, one coupon is awarded. The coupons
are then submitted for a weekly draw using the EarthCARE incentives as prizes.
Lisa Kulcher-Heaney, the EarthCARE coordinator, reports that all is going very
well so far.
Thanks for making a difference in recycling and reusing, CML!
