Design Team Customizes EarthCARE to Meet the Needs of Our Board!

EarthCARE Design Team enthusiastic in their planning for the upcoming school year! Together we plan to 'make a bigger difference' this year!

Once again the Design Team met early in the school year to discuss the events and activities to be planned for Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. Dates were set for upcoming events and many possible activities were discussed.

This fall the Youth Forum held on November 25th for our Secondary Students will focus on a theme of "Be the Change"! Lisa Glithero will be highlighted. Glithero, noted environmentalist and speaker will share with her audience her passion for a 'greener' society. Our Secondary students will certainly benefit by this presentation!

Training topics, new incentives and educational resources were among the items discussed. Erna Sorensen, Curriculum Coordinator recommended that we highlight several new books that have been sent to our school libraries by the ministry. "Take More Action" by Marc Kielburger, Craig Kielburger and Deepa Shankaran; Wangari's Tree of Peace by Jeanette Winter ; One Well: The Story of Water on Earth by Rochelle Strauss and several others.

Improvements to the project were discussed and a follow-up evaluation form during the trainings will help guide our direction for this coming year.

Once again we are looking forward to 'making a difference' in HPEDSB!
