EarthDay Celebrated at Hillcrest Public School

Under the direction of Ms. MacInnis, the students at Hillcrest Public School celebrated Earth Day this year by declaring their commitment to our planet. Several classes helped clean up both the schoolyard and the nearby community. A celebration assembly was held. Stories, songs and many questions were part of the program.

EarthCARE coordinator Veronica Ford challenged the students to reach out into the community to spread their caring influence. They had already planned to do just that - the day spent working on many environmentally related projects ended with a Family Night with pizza and a viewing of An Inconvenient Truth.
