Park Dale partners with City of Belleville

The City of Belleville has approached Park Dale Public School’s EarthCARE team to assist with its newly formed Green team and an initiative called Project Porchlight. The initiative is a community-based social marketing campaign organized by One Change, an Ottawa-based non-profit group that advocated community engagement and environmental sustainability. One Change has requested communication and action at the community level and the Board’s EarthCARE teams are a natural link to the community.

The City of Belleville has provided EarthCARE teams in Belleville with 2000 lightbulbs. The staff and students of Park Dale Public sorted the bulbs according to the number of families in the Belleville schools and readied them for courier pick up at the Giant Tiger Store where they were being stored. A cover letter and posters accompanied the light bulbs for each school.

A special thank you to Principal Rutherford, her EarthCARE coordinator Patti Sharpe and the EarthCARE team from Park Dale.

This team certainly made a difference in Belleville!
