Pinecrest Staff and Students Need Our Applause!

Recently the staff and students of Prinecrest school participated in an earth-saving activity. They took the flagship initiative LOPO (Lights Off, Power Off) for EarthCARE to a whole new level. The staff and students, under the leadership of EarthCARE rep David Fry and his team, went two whole days with the power off for the entire school! Imagine all the power that was saved by this action! Since EarthCARE's conception in 2005, LOCO has achieved a 19% drop in electricity use for Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, representing an estimated $208,200 savings for the 2008-2009 school year. I'm sure Pinecrest's initiative will assist with making an even greater impact on this data for the 2010-11 school year audit.
