Queen Elizabeth Students learn about Global Warming & Climate Change!
November 14, 2007
The grade 4-grade 8 students at Queen Elizabeth Public School in Picton were
presented with much information regarding the climate crisis October 17th.
They were shown an excerpt from the movie An Inconvenient Truth and challenged
with the question "Have you been sleeping?" by EarthCARE coordinator Veronica
Ford.
The students and staff were thanked for their participation in the EarthCARE initiative this past two years. Possible ways they could make a stronger difference in the areas of energy and waste reduction and water conservation were shared.
The students participated in a sorting exercise with the HPEDSB's Environmental
and Energy Technologist, Darleen Wolters-Sword. She followed with ideas and
tips to improve the Recycling program both at the school and at home.
Students and staff at Queen Elizabeth are committed to doing even more this school year. Take a bow QEP!
