Stirling Sr. Making an Impact on Our Environment!

The staff and students of this Gr. 6 - 8 school have considered the savings gained during the 2005-2006 school year and are making an investment in the future.

Last year in the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board the estimated reduction in CO₂ emissions amounted to 1.4 tonnes. This is equivalent to the planting of 46 mature trees.

Given this information, Stirling staff and students have planted 6 trees this fall. They have also continued to work hard on their recycling program. All of the large garbage cans have been replaced throughout the school. The hope is that this will help increase the amount of recycling and decrease the amount of garbage generated by both staff and students.
