EarthCARE in its first year with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board was highly successful.

EarthCARE's success does not occur by chance. Many people contribute to the achievements. The HPEDSB’s EarthCARE Design Team: Rose Marie Batley, Executive Director EarthCARE, Rob McGall, Superintendent of Education, Don Tregenza, Controller of Facility Services, Veronica Ford, Project Coordinator EarthCARE, Michael Prendergast, System Principal, Lisa Vincent, Secondary Principal, Stacey Belanger, Elementary Principal, Gail Brant, Elementary Principal, Nancy Popovich, Coordinator, Jim Trevisan, Coordinator, Darleen Wolters-Sword, Environmental Technologist, Kerry Donnell, Communications Officer, Erna Sorenson, Coordinator, Tina Jones, Coordinator, and Gayle Miller, Secondary Teacher, has been instrumental in planning for our success. Setting the stage each year with respect to dates and times for program delivery and assessing the results has been a major part of this team’s commitment.

Many others have helped achieve our success. Our Director, Kathy Soule and her Senior Team have been champions of the environmental messages, encouraging principals and school teams to participate in EarthCARE. Don Tregenza, Controller of Facility Services and Darleen Wolters-Sword, Environmental Technologist, have continued to give generously of their time and resources in implementing school audits and helping foster positive change. Grace Saunders, Secretary to Controller has been supportive of many aspects of the program. Assisting with the trainings and conducting administrative support in areas such as our T-shirt orders has helped our program move forward in a positive direction.
