Meet EarthCARE Project Coordinator Veronica Ford

Veronica Ford has worked with the Hastings Board of Education and now the Hastings and Prince Edward District School District for the past 33 years. During that time she has taught Grades Kindergarten through to 8 in a variety of subject areas including specialty areas of French, Library and Music. A Specialist Certification in Special Education has allowed her to teach several Special Education classes and act as resource to her teacher colleagues.

As an Administrator with this school district, she has worked as the Principal in several elementary school settings including a twinning situation and more recently as the Assistant Superintendent and Board Leader for Leadership Development with HPEDSB.

She is currently completing her Master's thesis with a focus on students with High Ability and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Now retired from the school board, Veronica hopes to continue supporting students in some way over the next few years, but in a more flexible, less structured way than the 5 day work week. Her current passions include coordinating the EarthCARE project with HPEDSB and working with many community partners to provide a BEST START opportunity for students in our schools. Travel plans are in the works and much of her free time will be spent with her many friends and family.
