Centre Hastings Celebrate 'New Semester' Resolutions!

The week of Feb 7-10th the staff and students were celebrating their "New Semester Resolutions for the Planet Week". Students were asked to visit a table outside the cafeteria and fill out recycled paper "leaves" with a new semester green resolution. The leaves were then posted on a big tree wall display.

Students were also selling reuseable cloth sandwich bags during this week.

The sandwich bags are handmade by Belleville resident Stefanie Bourke who owns and operates "The Straight Stitch". The material is upcycled from other projects and these bags will in turn help Centre Hastings students to keep hundreds of plastic ziploc bags out of landfill sites. Not to mention they are pretty darned fashionable!
