June 21, 2007
Lady Evelyne P.S. held Earth Day celebrations on Friday April 20th. Students
dressed in costumes that reflected a "Save the Earth" theme

reused materials. One grade 2/3 class dressed in black T-Shirts playing instruments
made from recycled boxes and cans, provided the marching band music. The parade
finished in the gym
where all class participated in an EarthCARE Assembly.
The assembly reflected
a variety of Earth Day themes. The assembly opened with a song from the
Primary Division, "The Earth is made for YOU and Me". This was followed
with a skit entitled "The Evolution of the Earth" and a
presntation by a primary class featuring animal masks that the students had
made.
Other acts included grade 2/3's using their home-made instruments to do
a song called "Back to the Sea." The assembly finished with a presentation of
an EarthCARE sculpture and a Renewable /Non -Renewable Banner. It was very
successful afternoon celebrating Earth Day at Lady Evelyne.
