Currently the EC team is getting ready for Earth Day – April 22. They
will perform a play about Mother Nature and doing what is right.

The EarthCARE team at Richmond Public School is busy being environmental stewards
in their school. They meet weekly with team leader Christine Dazé during morning
recess to work on their many projects:
- Weekly recycling
- Door hangers for LOCO being done well
- Light switch covers
- Door hangers to remind them they left their lights on 'You've been busted'
- Wasteless Wednesdays ? litterless lunch day with bonus points if the teacher also brings a litterless lunch. Classes are recognized with prizes such as a game party at lunch time, or a food treat and they receive the stuffed animal mascot for their room
- Skits on how to make a litterless lunch
- Awards for clean, tidy classrooms ? look after where you are which transcends to look after the earth
- Student morning announcements describing what teachers do to help promote a green planet e.g., recycling at home, short showers, composting, litterless lunches
- Interviewing students for morning announcements about what they do for a green environment
- Posting EC messages e.g., bulletin board in hallway The World is in Our Hands
