Over 300 EarthCARE Team Leaders and members of their EC teams attended a half-day training session at Confederation Education Centre, 24th – 25th February.

Executive Director, Rose-Marie Batley led the new team leaders through the auditing process while the experienced team leaders participated in the following activities with their students:

Sharing Circle led by team leaders
Growing Up Organic Composter Building with Torry and Laura
Audit Training with Doris

During their break, all teams completed one of three table challenges that were presented later in the session.

Table Challenge 1 – Create an environmental slogan and illustrate it, e.g., The Earth is yours. Save it.

Table Challenge 2 - Create 10 EarthCARE quiz cards

Table Challenge 3 – Create a one-minute play on an EarthCARE topic.

The half-day went in quickly and feedback was very positive. These were typical of the comments from the Team Leaders:

'It was a fun, interactive and motivational.'
'We were so engaged and learned so much in an authentic way.
'They were able to share ideas with other schools and get motivated to do more with EarthCARE. They enjoyed making the composter as it was very interactive and they got to take it home.'
