OCDSB EarthCARE Team Leaders Meet to Review 04/05 Success and Plan for 05/06

On October 20 and 21 Team Leaders from the OCDSB schools gathered to discuss the successes of the EarthCARE Program 2004-2005. Team Leaders were pleased to learn that LOCO avoided costs of over $1, 000,000 with an estimated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 10.1 tonnes, which is equivalent to planting 335 mature trees!

Team Leaders reviewed their individual school results and discussed plans for this year's activities. Many schools want to improve their recycling programs, look at implementing composting, and develop litterless lunch programs.

Team Leaders were excited about the additions to the EarthCARE web site and the opportunity to share their progress with one another on the Forum.

Great things are happening in the OCDSB and they are making a difference!
