Everywhere you look at Castlefrank E.S. you will find evidence that the EarthCARE Team is a busy group. The front foyer display with its posters and EC t-shirt remind students of their current focus – Earth Hour, Earth Day, Springing Clean the Capital.
Check out the above slideshow showcasing Castlefrank E.S.'s EarthCARE activities.
In front of the library is a huge poster for 'Rethink Garbage' with reminders to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Inside the library is a beautiful display of books about the environment for the students to borrow. The blue boxes have signs reminding students what belongs and what should be taken home – juice and milk cartons – 'I want to go home'. Signs are seen to remind everyone
to 'turn off the lights and computers' and there is a large display on one wall as to why you should use CFL lights vs. Incandescent. Monthly articles appear in the school newsletter to ensure the school community is part of the process.
The team is active in the recycling program and has participated in many activities this year including our Expo podcast competition. Their team leader, Marianne Graham, in her two years at the school has make a significant impact in bringing EarthCARE issues to Castlefrank school and community.
