TWIGS Main Goal

Using monies from fundraising activities of previous years, and this year' profits from our bake sales, TWIGS has been able to place an order through Presidio, for custom-made water bottles. By selling these bottles to students, staff and members of the community, we hope to accomplish two goals: the first is to promote re-using, (instead of buying bottled water everyday, one could simply re-fill this one); the second is to raise enough money to send a Beacon elementary class to MacSkimming Farm. Although this farm is no longer used to its full capacity, it continues to be a valuable resource for learning about the environment. We hope that by sending a class of less fortunate students to MacSkimming, we will not only be providing them with an opportunity to experience a hands-on social studies class outdoors, but also prevent the sale of a piece of beauty and keep the farm alive and running in our Board.
