Growing Up Organic at Pinecerst

On Friday, June 12 Growing Up Organic (GUO) came to Pinecrest PS and built two vegetable gardens with the Grade 1 class. Members of the EarthCare team helped to build the raised beds with Minh Ngo, Project Coordinator from GUO.

The students planted a variety of vegetable seeds including: snow peas, squash, beets, ocra, carrots and beans. With the help of our "Gardening Angel" Barbara, the plants will be well cared for over the summer. The students are very anxious to harvest their organic vegetables next fall.
