Trillium Book Exchange

For the past five years Trillium's Team Leaders, Sylvie Chilibeck, Louise Henderson, Kathryn Hughes and Heather Mutrie as well as the EARS (Environmental Action Student Representatives) and the school council environmental committee, have organized a book exchange where students who bring in a book receive a coupon that they can use to pick another 'gently used' book.

There are many books left at the end of the exchange. The school library receives many of them and the extras are sent to Zambia to a foster child of one of the teachers, Joan Belanger-Gauvin. She says that her foster child is allowed to choose a few books for herself and the rest are given to her school. This year the books will be split between Zambia and Nicaragua where she has another foster child. "Paying for these shipments is my little part in the large scheme of things."
