EarthCARE Delivery Strategies

EarthCARE relies on four key delivery strategies that make it both unique and successful.

EarthCARE is a student-led program designed to capture the natural enthusiasm of youth through our youth engagement strategy and to channel this into leadership and action. The program is linked to child development and connects with students at all grade levels.

By engaging the building operators in a similar strategy, EarthCARE acquires the knowledge and expertise of these staff and enables them to operate their buildings more efficiently as well as become key players in the EarthCARE teams.

Participation in activities that make a difference increases when those involved can share the gains being made. EarthCARE encourages the board to share with schools the energy costs avoided through LOCO (lights off/computers off) initiatives.

Each board develops a customized project plan to suit its needs and resources. A key success element is the partnership component. EarthCARE relies on participants working together for a better outcome. A framework for developing and managing partnerships is available. The project management assistance helps to ensure the results.

Each of these strategies seeks to engage all stakeholders to work towards a goal of a better planet.
