| Our school has been quite successful in holding Wasteless Wednesdays. (We also encourage it everyday but had to back down from a formal promotion when the school council officially opposed it). We promote the Wasteless Wednesdays through posters, announcements, weekly draws, and notes in the school monthly newsletter. We really encourage the use of reuseable, washable containers. I have heard about some schools actually having and selling lunch kits that come with a set of plastic containers especially fitted for that kit. I have seen such a thing on some American websites. Does anyone have more information about this. I'm not looking for a fundraiser but rather anything that would make things more convenient for parents. The idea of litterless lunches is easy to sell to the students, it's the parents I'm finding are the big opposers! |
